An Evaluation of Factors Influencing Preference for Contractors Prequalification Criteria in Kano State

Abstract

The paper sought out from respondents the order of the various factors which must have influenced their choice of criteria for contractor prequalification on performance of Public building project delivery in Kano state The following factors Project size, Early completion of project, Compatibility with organization's objective, Sufficient planning prior to bidding Price competition Robustness of criteria and Thoroughness of Estimates were analyzed. The' size of the project is adjudged to have a very high impact on the preference for contractor prequalification in Kano state at (pv) 0.05.and ranked first, Early completion of Project was ranked second, Compatibility with organization's objective ranked third, Sufficient planning prior to bidding ranked forth, Price competition ranked fifth Robustness of criteria ranked sixth and Thoroughness of Estimates ranked seventh respectively. This has identified the critical factors that require more attention as indicated by ranking.
